In the course of storing rock oil with large-scale tanks, mixing equipment need to be installed in each tank to prevent mass oil-sludge from depositing at the bottom of the tank. Rotary jet mixing (RJM) system is the safest and most effective method to mix oil-sludge at present. Researches on this kind of mixing system are wide and mature at abroad. But it is on initial step home-area, and the mixing system with excellent performance cannot be practically applied yet. In the whole process of developing RJM system, designing the driving turbine of main frame is one of the key points. In this paper, the hydraulic characteristics of the drive turbine used in RJM system for large-scale industrial oil tanks are studied, and based on the design of configuration, the hydraulic characteristics of the turbine are researched through experimental test and numerical simulation and the influencing factors and control mode of the performance are achieved. It is expected to offer instances to optimize structure parameters, and satisfy the demands of the engineering application.First, according to the requirement of mixing techniques, the method of Singularity Distribution is introduced to design the impellers of the turbine, and the parameters of turbine structure and the profile form drawing of the impellers are given. Then experiment bench for turbine performance test is self-built according to traits of RJM main frame. Multiple work situations, varying angle, flux, etc are tested, and the curves of rotational speed, moment, power, efficiency, etc that reflects characteristics of turbine are drawn. At the same time, simulation modeling of turbine is built according to actual structure parameters. Simulation of flow field is calculated with the model, using CFD theory, and the distributions of velocity, pressure and vorticity in the inner field are gained. External characteristic curves are obtained by means of integral on the hood face of vanes. The results getting from experimental test and numerical simulation are compared, and it is found that they are matching, which indicates that the simulation model is correct. The work situations that aren't tested inthe experiment are tested with the simulation model. It is concluded, through out the analysis, that the performance of the designed model work situation is the best, while the other models have the suitable application, too.The result of study in this paper, on the one hand, is an important part of RJM system design, offers important parameters for the design of rotary jet main frame, and is provided with practical engineering application;the results and method of experiment and 3-D turbulent numerical simulation of turbine, on the other hand, has theoretical value to optimize turbine design.
