| Works including the extraction of sterols derived from water caltrop have been reportedin this paper first. The sterols are seperated by the high performance preparative liquidchromatographyafterpurified.1. The best conditions and methods of extracting sterols are indentified throughcomparing the effects of differient solvents and methods such as microwave extraction,soxhletextractionandUltrasonicwaveextraction.2.Thesterolsareseperatedandpurifiedbysaponificationandsilicagelchromatography.Saponification is the best method to purify the crude sample of sterols by comparing thechromatogramoftwomethods.3. The best expanding solvent system used in the analysis of thin-layer chromatographyis selected through comparing the seperation of different solvent systems with differentpolarity. The results not only confirm the polarity of sterols in water caltrop but also can beusedtoselectthecompositionofmobilephaseintheseperationbychromatography.4. The best seperation condition of high performance preparative liquid chromatographyis selected and identified through comparing the composing of mobile phase, flowrate and soon.Thecontentof?-sitosterolwasconfirmed.5.Theantioxygenicpropertyofsterolswasresearched.Thescavengeringeffectofsterolsonhydroxylradical(?OH)anditsinhibitoryeffectonlipidperoxidationarestudied. |
