Metal foam, a new function material, made by present method has irregularstructure. This research is to provide a designing and fabricating method of metalfoam which has regular pore structure and uniform pore size, and its structureparameters such as porosity and specific surface area can be controlled andadjusted, which can gain ideal capability to satisfy the application of vary field.On the conception of material design, first, design the structure of metal foam,analyse the relationship between the capability and structure of metal foam,contrapose different capability request, then design metal foam of regular porestructure by computer three dimension sculpt software, and pay equal attention tothe analysis of diamond structure metal foam, educe the formula of porosity,specific surface area,equivalent pore diameter and analyses the structure characterof diamond foam.Afterwards, transmit the model files into the rapid prototyping machine tomanufacture the foam framework. The fabrication of foam structure by RPtechnology is flexible and is not limited by the complexity of the pore andmacroscopical structure. Eventually, the metal foams of fixed porosities andregular cells can be manufactured by chemical and electric plating.On the angle of material design, combine the computer CAD/CAMtechnology,advanced manufacturing technology and new material technology,design and fabricate a kind of foam framework which has regular structure toproduce the metal foam which has regular pore structure. design the structure ofmetal foam at first, then precisely control its structure in the fabricate process,control the size,structure,distributing,porosity and density of the pore. Thismethod can contrapose the vary need of application, design and fabricate the metalfoam of corresponding structure. Moreover it can gain ideal capability to satisfythe application of vary field.
