SAPO-5 molecular sieve is a kind of the family of silicoaluminophosphate SAPO-n molecular sieves. The crystal of SAPO-5 molecular sieve has hexagonal structure and consists of some 6-12-ring one-dimensional microporous framework structure. SAPO-5 molecular sieve has AFI-type structure and the common characterization of SAPO-n molecular sieves, such as ion-exchange capacity, somewhat adjustable acidity, and so on. Therefore, SAPO-5 molecular sieve has attracted much interest in the field of shape-selective catalysis, separation, the preparation of nonlinear optics materials and carbon nanotubes. Due to the uniform and high performance inter-heating, the microwave irradiation can lead to uniform heating of the synthesis mixture in a short time, and speed the sprout of a great deal of crystal nucleus, and thus increase the crystallization rate. Synthesis of zeolites with microwave has many advantages such as fast crystallization, increased phase purity and narrow particle size distribution which the traditional hydrothermal method can not compare with. Another more important advantage is that microwave irradiation is very efficient to control the morphology of microporous materials. The present work investigates the effect of various synthetic conditions on the synthesis of SAPO-5 molecular sieve microsphere under the microwave irradiation. The results show that the SAPO-5 molecular sieve microspheres with different surface can be obtained under microwave irradiation. The crystal form and the shape of microspheres were charactered by XRD and SEM techniques, respectively.1. SAPO-5 molecular sieve microspheres under microwave irradiation were obtained. Based on the effects of the raw materials composition, the effect of the dosage of water and TEA, the raitio of Al/Si has been investigated in details, and the parameters were optimized.2. The dosage of TEA has been investigated. The characterization of XRD and SEM showed that the dosage of TEA has much effect to the synthesis of SAPO-5 molecular sieve microsphere, especially to the crystallinity, crystal form and crystal shape.
