The 3D mine tunnel modeling is a key problem of the development of current 3D Geographic Information System(GIS) and theory and technique of the Digital Mine(DM). Studying the method of 3D mine tunnel modeling can perfect the way of modeling about digital mine, promote the development of MGIS theory and method and lay the theory and method foundation on developing practical commercial software.Mine surveying data is the basic information of 3D mine tunnel modeling .Based on the brief introduction of mine surveying technique, the method of calculating adjustment by observation equations and adjustment by condition equations is illustrated significantly. According to the character of tunnel surveyed data, data structure of adjustment computation is put forward. After processing traverse data, 3D model of mine tunnel is built on the base of processed data. The method of 3D mine tunnel modeling is emphasized. Data structure and its organization method of 3D tunnel modeling are brought out. The core is that 3D tunnel model is constructed by loading section on basis of 2D tunnel line, which are according to data of tunnel surveying. On the platform of Window XP, the MS Visual C++6.0 is selected as the tool of software development and the OpenGL is chosen as the main graphics manipulated tool. Then, the mine surveying data processing and 3D visualization system of tunnel model is developed. And the trial system is tested with the example of ChangQing coal mine. It is shown that the method of 3D tunnel modeling which is applied to in this paper is valid.
