There are two main discussions in this article. The first, adding a certain percent RE to Al-Si Alloys, the results showed that when RE element was added into AlSi7 alloy, the temperature range between solid and liquid of Al-Si alloy was widened, the morphology of eutectic silicon become dot morphology , fluidity of semi-solid alloy was increased , and the grain size become little, the RE element has an action of metamorphose. It indicates that adding certain percent RE can improve the solidification and micro-performance. It is easy to obtain the semi-solid slurry structure casting near the liquidus temperature. Casting RE Al-Si alloy by slope liquidus, The semi-solid structure is uniformity , fine and spherical microstructure grains. The method is simple and easy operation. The technology process is stable and reliable. Factory can use this method to make semi-solid slurry. The second the electromagnetism induce furnace is the only equipment now use to reheat semi-solid metals in industry. It needs much investment the operation is very complex and suiting volume-produce. And the equipment has not used in our country. Consider this condition. We discuss using resistance furnace to reheat semi-solid metals in article. Using ADAM module. Writing control program to practice RE Al-Si alloy semi-solid reheat in resistance furnace. The method is simple only needing to input temperature and time of reheat. Each of industry can use the method to semi-solid metals reheat, low cost, operation easy , suiting abroad apply. Remelt time and temperature is two main factors that influence the metallography structure is also discussed in this article.
