This article was composed of two parts. Part one was the syntheses and characterizations of 1,6-methano[10]annulene derivatives. Part two was degradation of organic species in the water by producing porous glass which has the photocatalysis.Part one was the syntheses and characterizations of 1,6-methano[10] annulene derivatives. First the 3-bromo-1,6-methano[10]annulene was prepared by 10Ï€ electrocyclic reaction from starting material of 1,6-diformyl-1,3,5-cycloheptatriene by 5 steps. And the 3,3'-Bi-1,6-methano [10]annulene was synthsized by base-induced coupling of 3-bromo-1,6-methano[10]annulene. Then additional compound of 1,6-methano[10] annulene derivative with C60 was prepared too. The products was charactered by 1H NMR,13C NMR and Ms spectrums.Recently, study on wastewater treatment by using TiO2 has great development. In this area TiO2 was loaded on carrier or suspended to get better catalysis efficiency. But the most of carriers were inorganic materials. It is limited to be used as photocatalyst for low loading amount of TiO2 or low using of light. Porous glass has increased specific surface area to load more TiO2, so that it can get better catalysis efficiency. So, our work is to degrade organic species in the water by producing a kind of porous glass, which has the photocatalysis.
