The Vanadic Titanomagnetite resource of Panzhihua and Xichang area is one of the most three famous composite paragentic mineral deposits in China, and is also aworld-famous mineral resource. However, nearly 53% titanium is entered into the concentrate iron ore , after the blast furnace is smelted, nearly all enters the high titania bearing blast furnace slag which contains 20~24% TiO2. This kind of slag is used to produce slag cement, its TiO2 content has too high, it is used to titanic- ferroalloy or production the raw materials such as Titanium White, its TiO2 content also has too low. Since people had not found the practical feasible comprehensive utilization method, it had pile up the massive slag. It has accumulated amounts to 70 million tons, and still by every year 3 million tons speeds increase. The high titanium slag is not only pollution environment but also waste titanium resources. How effectively does the comprehensive utilization the high Titania bearing blast furnace slag to become the question that the Panzhihua iron and steel plant is urgent needs to solve.This paper has roundly researched how sepatated the titanium from the slag, and we have made conclusions:From the thermodynamic analyse, when the high Titania bearing blast furnace slag and NaOH are in the high temperature, it is likely to sepatate the titanium from the slag. Get an applicable analytical method of the response system.The high Titania bearing blast furnace slag and NaOH may directly respond under the high temperature, then soak the eutectic slag to dissolve the dissoluble sodium salt. When the responded temperature is 1250℃, the lixiviation rate of Ti, Si, Al are higher; but the the lixiviation rate of Ti, Si, Al are very less, especially the lixiviation rate of Ti less than 10%. We may lixiviate the Ti, Si and Al with water as separation reagent in the room temperature.By pressurized soak with the alkali, the titanium, the aluminum and the silicon can be effectively separated from the high titania bearing blast furnace slag to enter in the solution.
