The task of the research is to study the processings of manufacturing Aluminum matrix composites reinforced by SiC particles with the processes of semi-solid casting and semi-solid forging, so as to optimize the parameters of manufacturing,remelting and forging, and some optimized processing parameters can be got.According to the principle of manufacturing SiC particle reinforce ZL112Y matrix composites by semi-solid casting, a set of stir equipment has been designed. Aluminum matrix composites reinforced with different volume fraction and different dimension of SiC particles were manufactured successfully by semi-solid casting. By observing the experiment process, the rotate speed and position of the stirrer should been adjusted by the phenomenon of liquid surface, and which should been increased when particles were collected on the surface, and to ensure the vortex has been formed, so as to ensure particles have been dispersed in the melt uniformly. The microstructure, the hole ratio and the hardness of the composites have been studied and analyzed too. The results of the experiment show that, the aluminum matrix composite reinforced with small dimension(9.7μm)and great volume fraction(30%) of SiC particles was manufactured by semi-solid casting, and the particles dispersed in the matrix uniformly. The more are the SiC particles, the worse is the density of the composites.With a high-frequency induce heating equipment and a device for temperature measuring, appropriate semi-solid remelting processing parameters of the composite have been researched. Result of the experiment show that, the shape ,the composition and density have an important effect on the remelting process. As a result, reasonable semi-solid processing parameters is to heat the billet with a intermittent rate of heating of the lowest surged power, so as to ensure the billet temperature of the inner and outer go up to 560℃uniformly, then to forge.With some plumbum sticks for simulating semi-solid forging of the composites, and with a modification for the mould, the 30vol% composites have been forged successfully. The observation of experiment show that, the remelting temperature, the preheating temperature of the mould and the speed of the press machine have an important effect on the forming of the composites.
