The feasibility of the novel fixed bioreactor anaerobic-anoxic-aerobic-aerobic system for treatment of coke plant wastewater has been tested at pilot-scale in this paper. Oxidation of the organic cardon compounds was carried out in the two biological contact oxidation reactors and nitrification was performed in the BAF. The low COD feed load in the BAF favoured nitrification so that the effluent concentration for COD and NH3-N met the required standards for the final effluent. The results of test-run and technology characteristics study showed that bioreactor system effluent COD and NH3-N concentrations had attained primary national standard about wastewater discharge ?GB8978-1996? when influent flux was 0.1m3/h and was diluted with water as 1:1 scale ,recirculation was from O2 reactor which ratio was about 3 .HRT of O1 reactor was 24 h,DO of O1 reactor was 56mg/L,while HRT of O2 reactor was 24 h,DO of O2 reactor was 45mg/L.Most COD and ammonia were removed in O1 reactor.Bioreactor system effluent COD and NH3-N concentrations had also...
