The thesis has analyzed existing mining methods and characteristics of 3.5-1 Om steeply inclined thick coal seam in China. Based on the fully-mechanized top-coal caving method, top-coal caving mining of lane pillar according to this seam has been pointed out and the systems analysis of this method has been studied.Combined with Theory Analysis, Numerical Simulation and Industrial Practice, the optimization layout method of roadway, the reasonable phase height and the protective top coal thickness at next phase of circle wind lane have been confirmed. Mechanized coal mining treatment process has been proposed, and some measures have been given according to producing gases, spontaneous combustion and dust calamity. The practice in Tanyaogou Coal Mine of Taixi Coal Corporation in Neimenggu has proved that this method is secure and efficient, can acquire better economic benefit and social benefit, has high adaptability and will be popular in this research field.
