In recent years, nanocrystalline materials with grain size of less than 100nm have received considerable attentions. Because of the ultrafine grain size and high intercrystalline volume, nanocrystalline materials exhibit numerous unique physical, chemical as well as mechanical properties compared with traditional microcrystalline materials, as a result, which now become a popular research field in material science. Specially, application and industrialization of nanocrystalline materials have been given more and more attentions. Among numerous synthesis methods for nanocrystalline materials, electrodeposition is considered to be one of the most dominant methods, not only for obtaining pure metals, binary alloys, ternary alloys and composites of nano-structures, but also easily transferring this technology from the research laboratory into industrialization. For instance, pulse-jet deposition technique used for synthesis or large-scale production of nanocrystalline materials shows broad applications and is worthy of development. At the same while, in order to further understand the unique microstructure and properties of nano-material, studies of various properties of corrosion property, mechanical performance, magnetic property, etc are always the main research contents of nano-material.Nickel-plated deeply-draw steel strip is a newly high-property material for battery shell, which is produced with nickel electrodeposition on low-carbon steel and followed with some special optimization treatments. However, applications of nanocrystalline nickel prepared by pulse-jet deposition in nickel-plated deeply-draw steel strip are expected. As a result, enhanced properties, especially anti-corrosion performance, improved production efficiency, lower production cost and larger application range would be achieved. The studies of this master thesis contain two main parts. In the first part, based on fundamentals of synthesis of nanocrystalline materials by pulse-jet electrodeposition and automatic transmission system, a set of continuous electrodeposition of nanocrystalline nickel coating instrument was designed and set-up. In the second part, thermal stability of nanocrystalline nickel was studied.Effects of some technic parameters or factors, including deposition current density, annealing temperatures, on corrosion property of nanocrystalline nickel coating were investigated as well. Then comparison was carried out on corrosion performance of annealed nanocrystalline nickel coating and nickel-plated deeply-draw steel strip. In the first chapter, related research background and research status were...
