The preparation and structure analysis of nanosized material are two principal aspects of nanosized materials science. Therefore, preparing the nanosized materials with outstanding performance and understanding the relationship between structures and properties are most important both in theoretical and practical field. The content of this paper was summarized as follows:First part: The nanocrystals of nickel oxide have been prepared by thermal decomposition of β-Ni (OH)2 which was firstly obtained by a simple precipitation reaction with Ni(NO3)2 and KOH at near room temperature. The as-prepared products, β-Ni(OH)2, were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and TG-DTA analysis. Furthermore, grain growth kinetic of nano-structured nickel oxide for thermal treatment process was stndied by means of isothermal and isochronal annealing. The results show that the near room-temperature precipitate was β-Ni (OH)2 with spindle like shape, which transform into cubic NiO nanocrys -tallites annealed at temperature higher than 280°C. The NiO nanocrystals grow up with increasing of the calcinating temperature and prolonging of the calcinations time. Moreover, tuning the annealling temperature is more available for size control than varying the annealling time. And...
