Continuous inclinometer is one of the tri-freedom device, which is used on continuous measurement of well parameters including rake angle, azimuth angle and tool angle. This paper introduces clearly the inclinometer theory of earth gravity measurement based on three-axis orthogonal accelerometers and earth magnetic measurement based on three-axis orthogonal magnetometers, then deduces the mathematic model and calculating method of rake angle, azimuth angle and tool angle. Furthermore, the paper also introduces the operating principle of quartz flexible servo accelerometer and magnetometer besides instruction design of inclinometer, which employs interior singlechip to collect, transmit, process and save the data. By considering narrow space of the well, we selected serial chip as A/D and data memories with the additional program in the software. The measurement range of inclinometer is wide, so we used the automatic range conversion technology in the system design to improve the precision.The design of up ground monitor system is one of the most important part in the whole design. We employ Visual C++ as software plat to monitor, display and compensate error by using multithreading, which means one threading reads the serialport repeatedly to receive the data from under well, and another threading is used to control, calculating and display.The data transmitting between under ground and up ground is all along the hard problem in directional drilling. These years, the slurry pulse-width modulation in wireless transmitting has arose many attentions, but the rare data flow and the complicated under ground magnetic restrict the use of electromagnetic in well logging. While, the encoding and decoding transmit technology based on Manchester has the merits of long distance and strong anti-interference. Moreover, it employs CPLD to achieve the functions and the small volume make it used in military and industrial environment more often. This paper analyses the method of data transmit of long distance and the encoding and decoding theory of Manchester and designs the driver circuit, then realizes its function in MAX+PLUSâ…¡by using VHDL language.
