Application Of Bioactive Reagent-PVA In The Environmental Friendly Plastics

The research of environmental friendly material has been done in the material aspect and the environmental aspect, under the guidance of eco-designing thought about the corresponding development of material and environment.First, in the material aspect, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) has been used as a kind of bio-active reagent to add into the environmental friendly plastic material because of its good environment consistent characteristic. Calcium carbonate whiskers, which were modified by PVA and/or rare earth ion (La³⁺) because of theirs excellent complex and modeling effect, have been synthesized by the hydrolyzing of urea method; and these whiskers could be applied in the environmental friendly plastic material as a kind of inorganic-powder.Secondly, in the environmental aspect, the process of PVA degradation has been studied in the simulating environment. A strain that can used PVA as a sole carbon source has been isolated from the environment polluted by PVA. The configuration and the physiological and bio-chemical characteristics of the PVA-degradable strain has shown that it belonged to the actinomycete, and the further 16S rDNA resulted that it had the highest homologous character with Streptomyces venezuelae, then we named it as Streptomyces sp. PVA. Further more, the culture and nutrition conditions were optimized, and the degrading characteristics have been studied by UV-Vis scanning and GPC during the degradation process.There are no reports about the degradation of PVA by Streptomyces venezuelae, so the results make some contribution to the new microorganism resource of PVA-degradation, and it also makes sense to the sustaining development materials and environment.
