The treatment of the nocuous organic pollution in water is vital to environmental protection. Comparing with the conventional physical and biological treatments, photocatalysis has provided a new and practically industrial approach to disposal of organic waste water depending on its wide applicability and sensitivity to toxic organic matter.Three kinds of catalysts were selected in this study to degrade toxic organophosphorous,N-Methylcarbamate,organochlorine pesticides and dyes, as the researching subjects, using nanosized TiO2 powder,TiO2 fiber l and Pelagite as the Photocatalyst, and combining with UV light method, provided a lot of valuable scientific theories and industrial application reference on photocatalytic degradation to toxic and harmful organic waste water, pre-treatment to sea water desalination.â… . photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants by nanosized TiO2 powder1. The organophosphorous pesticides is poisonous, the toxicants inhibit the reproduction of bacterium, so the pollutant degradation by microbe is poor. Trichlorfon and dimethoate are selected to be the target compounds. The photocatalytic degradation of dimethoate using nanosized TiO2 powder and some impact factors were particularly investigated and studied. Such as effect of catalyst loading, effect of initial pH of solution, effect of initial concentration of dimethoate, effect of UV-lamp power, effect of the presence of oxidant, synergetic effect of UV and US (ultrasonic) irradiation. Moreover, the effect of cation: Fe3+,Cu2+,Zn2+and Cr3+, effect of anion: Cl-,NO3- and HCO3-,effect of humus as photosensitization were investigated, but acetone shows the photoquenching effect, Many intermediate products were identified by GC-MS and the probable degradation pathways of dimethoate by photocatalytic degradation were proposed form theoretical quantum calculation, It was proved that degedating kinetics is first order reaction model...
