It is well known that Pb2+ is terribly toxic to human bodies. So there is an urgent need to determine Pb2+ at trace level. Many novel analytical methods have been developed recently, however, simplification of the analytical process is still one of the main research aspects. The purpose of this research is to build a convenient, rapid and low cost method for the determination of trace lead.ZnS nanoparticles were prepared by solid-state method at room temperature. The morphology, structure and optical properties of the particles were characterized with some methods, such as TEM, XRD, UV-vis and PL. The results were as follows. The size of the ZnS nanoparticles was less than 10 nm. And XRD measurement revealed a zinc blende structure. The peak in UV-vis became blue-shift because of the quantum size effect. The excitation and emission spectra were different with the bulk materials, which could be also attributed to quantum size effect. The emission band centered at 420 nm, while the excitation wavelength was at 318 nm.The mixed samples were prepared by adding Pb2+ solution of different concentration to ZnS nanoparticles. Under 365nm UV-light, the samples showed...
