Aqueous/organic two-phase catalytic system with water-soluble organometallic complexes as catalysis is one of the frontier fields in the "Green Chemistry" that is progressing quickly recently. The design and synthesis of novel water-soluble phosphines is the base of the progress in the two-phase catalysis. As the foundation for searching the new water-soluble phosphines, p-alkoxylphenyldibenylphosphine, p-CH3(CH2)nOC6H4PPh2 (n=3, 7, 11. 15), were synthesized and characterized by 1H and 31P NMR spectra. The catalytic performance of in situ formed catalyst from Rh(CO)2(acac) and p-CH3(CH2)nOC6H4PPh2 in higher olefin hydroformylation was studied. The effect of reaction temperature, pressure, molar ratio of phosphine to rhodium on the hydroformylation were investigated in detail. The results indicated that Rh(CO)2(acac)/p-CH3(CH2)nOC6H4PPh2 showed excellent activity and good regioselectivity. Under the optimum conditions, 100℃, 2.0MPa and Rh concentration 1.2×0-3mol/L, [P]/[Rh]=20, the conversion and the molar ratio of linear to branched aldehyde in 1-decene hydroformylation attained 90% and 3.8. respectively. The increase of chain-length of alkoxy group on benzene ring of triphenylphosphine improved the regioselectivity for linear aldehyde. The results gave a good foundation for the synthesis of novel...
