At present and in the future, the task of water environmental system analysis would play an important role in our national environmental protection field due to fast development situation of China. Owing to the high dimension, complicated characteristics and severe situation of water pollution, this paper will focus on water quality synthesis analysis in stead of water quality synthesis assessment, and multivariate statistical analysis was applied to excavate the meaning of the ground water quality monitoring data in Chengdu urban area, and research on the dynamical change trajectory of water quality, and pick up the characters of statistics from token of the pollution situation of water environmental system furthest.This paper introduced the theory of principal components analysis (PCA) and global principal components analysis (GPCA), and made the difference and relation between the two methods definite, and used GPCA to best predigest and reduce the dimension of the high dimension water quality monitoring data. In case of analysing the Chengdu ground water quality monitoring data by using GPCA, the original thirteen water quality monitoring index was reduced to two, and the first and the second principal components composed the global principal plane, which was instead of the 56.48% information of the original index, and the precision was good.
