This paper analyzes the study situation of spur gear with precision plastic forming in domestic and overseas countries, the two methods of precision plastic forming, which are the positive cold extrusion and the reducing diameter extrusion, are put forward according to the character of gear forming. And the positive extrusion forming and the reducing diameter extrusion forming are studied by numerical value simulation.This paper introduces the basic principle of rigid-viscoplastic finite element method, and mainly discusses the key techniques of Deform-3D software in simulation. The metal deformation rules of positive cold extrusion and reducing diameter are studied based on Deform-3D: analyzing the metal deformation rules and small diameter roughcast affects the filling of mould when positive extrusion is used; studying that the deformation extent affects the gear forming and metal flowing rules when reducing diameter extrusion is used. Metal deformation rules of two extrusion forming are compared, the fitter forming method is chose to apply to produce experiment.On the basis of results of numerical values simulation, the technology route of gear workpiece with steel material in positive cold extrusion is ascertained, the mould of cold extrusion is designed, and the gear roughcast is successfully extruded.The result studied indicate the results of practice experimentation are close to the results of numerical values simulation, which shows that the simulation method can be used to direct the precision plastic...
