Along with the rapid development of the science and technology, the degree of industrial automation is continuously raising. The requirements for mechanical equipment and parts material are also increasing everyday. On today's utilization of material in the world, it's a common phenomenon that the ratio of material consumption is quite high and the ratio of utilization is quite low. All these are caused by the abrasion of materials, and the loss is tremendous. In all the abrasion types, the grinding abrasion takes the greatest percent. So how to increase the wearing resistance of parts and improve the material's performance of wear-resistant has become an important problem people need to solve which has a great economic and social sense.Aiming at the problem mentioned above, this paper researches two new kinds of iron-base alloy systems for wear-resistant successfully with the overlay welding which are Cr -B-Ni-W-V and Cr-B-Ni-Ti alloy systems.In the building-up welding experiment, we use the carbon rod as electrode bar to melt alloy powder. The paper has individually studied the performance of grinding wear-resistant of the two systems through analyzing the average degree of hardness, the weightlessness of deposited metal and the microstructure. And also, the paper studies the effect of alloy elements on the deposited metal's degree of hardness and the ability of wear-resistant, such as Cr, B, Ni, W, V, and Ti. And defines the best percentage composition of the two alloy systems eventually. Finally, the effect of the overlay welding parameter on wear-resisting property of surfacing deposit, such as welding current and welding speed, is also observed. The paper also analyzes the wear-resisting mechanism of the overlay welding alloy system.The systemic analyses among the different overlay welding alloy and organizing indicate that the mixture ratio of the two alloy systems studied in the paper are all perfect. It makes theoverlay welding alloy not only have super performance of grinding wear-resistant, but also have super crack resistance. In addition, there is a best extent of the alloy elements in the alloy system. While all the alloy elements are in this extent, the wear-resisting property of the overlay welding layer is the best. Furthermore, overlay welding current and speed also have contribution to the property. Eventually, when the dismension and the distribution of the carbide hard phase are uniform in the welding organization, the overlay welding layer has better wear-resisting property.
