With soil and land resource as research objects, this paper, based on investigation and analysis of physical and chemic characteristics in typical soil samples from the areas of dolostone near Guiyang region, establishes the appraisal indexes of soil quality, then by comparison, puts forward index system and method of soil quality which is suitable for land evaluation in dolostone areas of Guiyang region, finally gives some advice on sustainable use of land in Guiyang region. The main results are as follows:On the basis of six indexes, this paper, according to organism, full nitrogen, full phosphor, full kalium, alkali azote, quick result phosphor, quick result kalium, valid depth of soil layer and slope grade, ascertains index system and method of land resource quality classification in dolostone areas of Guiyang region and carries out the classification in these areas. The results show that the order of soil quality in land-use types from best to worst is forestlands, grasslands, restored lands and infields, and that as to soil quality index of infields its order in the areas is Huaxi, Baiyun, Qingzhen, Wudan, Xiuwen, Kaiyang and Xifeng, and that as to soil quality index of forestlands its order in the areas is Qingzhen, Huaxi, Baiyun, Kaiyang, Wudan and Xifeng, and that as to soil quality index of grasslands its order in the areas is Kaiyang, Wudan, Baiyun, Qingzhen, Xifeng and Huaxi. The soil quality indexes of Huaxi and Qingzhen are the highest with light land degradation but thet of Xifeng is the lowest with the most serious land degradation.Through the analysis of basic classification causes of soil, this paper puts forward some suggestions and measures for sustainable use of lands in Guiyang region.
