Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) with large inner diameter were synthesized by chemical vaper deposition , and were functionalized by different ways. The functional CNTs were used to support NiB amorphous alloy catalyst, and benzene hydrogenation was used to study the effect of different treatments on catalytic activity and sulfur resistance. Some characteristics of catalyst were investigated by using XRD, TEM, HRTEM, IR, BET, TPR, TPD.XPS.Ni- Cu-Al catalyst and Ni-Cu-Mg catalyst were used. During the preparation of CNTs , the influences of gas flowing velocity ,reaction time and temperature, roast atmosphere and roast temperature of catalyst were detected. The experiments show that the bigger inner-diameter were also praparred on Ni-Cu-Mg catalyst ,but the yield of CNTs prepared on Ni-Cu-Mg catalyst was smaller than them done on Ni-Cu-Al catalyst.Amorphous NiB/CNTs catalyst were prepared by induced reduction. CNTs were functionalized by nitric acid, ethylenediamine , polyvinyl alcohol, siloxane polyenther copolymer, and hydrogen peroxide .The experiments show that after ethylenediamine functionalization , the NiB/CNTs catalysts have the best catalytic activity and sulfur resistance, and benzene conversion is 100% at 403K.After hydrogen peroxide functionalization ,the CNTs has biggest specific surface area ,and the NiB/CNTs catalysts have good catalytic activity but the worst sulfur resistance. After siloxane polyenther copolymer functionalization, the NiB/CNTs catalysts have better catalytic activity and sulfur resistance than the NiB/CNTs catalysts which CNTs were treated by nitric acid and polyvinyl alcohol. The good experiments results attributed to the dispersing effect on support, electronic interaction between support and alloy after CNTs were functionalized.
