The defects of lithium organocuprate used for the anionic polymerization of alkyl methacrylates are low thermal instability, low initiator efficiency and broad molecular weight distribution (MWD) of polymer. In this paper, Cy2NCu/n-BuLi prepared from CuBr · Me2S is used as initiator for anionic polymerization of alkyl methacrylates, which has higher thermal stability. The investigation on the anionic polymerization of methyl methacylate(MMA), butyl methacylate(BMA), glycidyl methacylate(GMA) and Styrene(St) has been carried out in the -15 ℃ in tetrahydrofuran (THF).When the ratios between Cy2NCu and n-BuLi is changed in a wide range, the relative narrow MWD(1.10w/M|-n<1.25) PMMA and high initiator efficiency( > 95%) can be obtained in the MMA polymerization at -15℃.Shorter polymerization time, higher monomer conversion and...
