In this thesis, the high solid content polyacrylate/silica sol composite emulsion was synthesized by in-site emulsion polymerization. The factors impacting on the properties of latex and coating films were discussed. It's the first time that we studied reactive emulsifier in the compound emulsion. The microstructure, particle size and distribution of hybrid particles were investigated by DLS DSC IR TEM, which deduced hybrid mechanism. And its application on water based paints was explored. The main study is as follow.1. A serials emulsiflers and their cooperation influence on emulsion stability were studied, and the result shows that when SAHS used with SLS the stable emulsion can be obtained. All over properties reach the best and when mSAHS: mSLS=2: 1 by adding SAHS at the beginning of polymerization, the average particle size is 50.1nm, and distribution is 0.075.2. Physical and Chemical properties of emulsion differ from silica content. The water absorption declines, hardness increases, stainless resistant improves highly with silica content growing.
