Recently years, related studying has shown that the organic polysulfides, which store energy through the electrochemical transformation of the S-S bonds, can be used as a kind of cathode material for lithium batteries with high specific capacity. But the shortage of these materials is that excessive amount of small sulfide molecules generating as products during the charge-discharge cycling of this material might dissolve in electrolyte and accordingly cause the cathode collapse. Organic polysulfides with linear carbon skeleton can keep the stable shape of the cathode and improve the cycling property. In these materials, carbyne polysulfides possesses the highest theoretical capacity.In this paper, carbyne polysulfide was prepared by co-heating polyvinylidene chloride (PVDC) and pulverized sulfur in ammonia environment at normal pressure and obturator respectively.The sulfide products prepared at normal pressure were characterized...
