Estuary area connects river and ocean, it is special and fragile for topographic conditions, water dynamics and human activities, so it is destroyed easily.In this article, the water from estuary area is selected as the test chemicals. The check measurement to the water from Yangtze estuary area in 2002 ~ 2003 was carried out. The qualitative results demonstrate that 234 kinds of organic substances in 9 categories are checked out, including 23 kinds of VOCs, 211 kinds of SVOCs. The check measurement to the water from Yellow River estuary area in 2004 was carried out. The qualitative results demonstrate that 192 kinds of organic substances in 8 categories are checked out, including 33 kinds of VOCs, 159 kinds of SVOCs. The quantitative results demonstrate that VOCs mainly embrace halogenated hydrocarbons and mononuclear aromatics whose mass concentration ranges are 0.024 ~ 1.592 and 0.10 ~ 1.300μg/L respectively; SVOCs mainly embrace PAHs, esters, mononuclear aromatics, halogenated hydrocarbons, phenols, ethers and pesticides whose mass concentration ranges are 0.005 ~ 3.02, 0.535 ~ 1.714, 0.018 ~ 1.256, 0.02 ~ 0.212, 0.008 ~ 0.610, 0.01 ~ 0.860 and 0.009 ~ 0.127μg/L respectively. The pollution of PAHs, esters and mononuclear aromatics whose overruns are 1.78 ~ 2.857, 0.16~0.37, 0.001 ~ 1.543 respectively is relatively serious.The results demonstrate that majority organic substances are SVOCs.
