the preparation of carbon material derived from polyimide films have studied. The carbon film were obtained by laminated molding and carbonization of PI films. The structure and properties of carbon films have been studied by element analysis, TG, DSC, IR, XRD, SEM et al.The results showed that carbonizing pressure and temperature rise rate were the most important factors which influenced the surface and performance of the product. High pressure and temperature rise rate will induce crack and cavity in the sample. In order to gain sample with smooth surface and uniform thickness, it was necessary to optimize molding and carbonization process. The changes of interior structure and performance of polyimide film under different pyrolytic temperature have been studied, when the temperature reached 600℃ crystal structure of the sample started to appear and mechanical property were strengthened clearly, further heated to 700℃ the structure of a like graphite formed and the electrical property had a great increase. Above 700℃, the combination of the aromatic heterocyclic polycyclic compounds appeared, it should lead to the formation of the continual large aromatic...
