In recent years, focusing on the IC reactor's defects, such as the starting time lasting long and the technology of cultivating granular sludge being advanced, people use inertia carrier for example active carbon, to cultivate anaerobic granular sludge and speed up IC reactor's startup, but such inertia carriers always keep in sludge, which will take trouble with the afterward sludge treatment. The paper used wheat bran fiber that can be degraded as carrier and manual simulative glucose wastewater to start and run IC reactor, contrasting with the IC reactor which did not cast any carrier into, and observed wheat bran fiber having some effect on the startup course of IC reactor. The two collateral test adopted the same input water and inoculated sludge, run at the same test conditions as much as possibly. This paper studied the best producing conditions of wheat bran fiber, also saw about wheat bran fiber's swell and sedimentation, and compared the time wasting at the sludge granulating of IC reactor, the running stability and the capability of resisting impulse load, and the granular sludge's characteristic IC reactor having cultivated. And it discussed the mechanism of wheat bran fiber accelerating anaerobic sludge granulating, summarized some experience that benefit for IC reactor start-up. The main conclusions are as follows:1 .In the process of wheat bran fiber's producing, wheat bran fiber's physiological index holding water power is the main reference index. By single factor tests and orthogonal test, considering some problems such as the treatment cost, the best conditions of pretreatment have been ascertained that the dosage of mixed enzyme is 0.3%, the enzyme degrading time is 45min, the dosage of NaOH solid is 5%, the alkali degrading time is 70min, the alkali degrading temperature is 70℃. The swell and sedimentation of treated wheat bran fiber are well.2.Casting wheat bran fiber in the startup of IC reactor, can quicken up the curse of sludge granulating obviously and shorten the time wasting at the startup of reactor. At the same test conditions, the IC reactor cast wheat bran fiber into finished its sludge granulating at the 41st day , so contrasted with the IC reactor not cast any carrier into at the 61st day, it have advanced 20d.3.The highest volume loading rate of IC reactor cast wheat bran fiber into is 50.77kgCOD/(m~3·d), compared with it of that not is 36.87kgCOD/(m~3·d), it is almost 1.38 times of it of that not.4.In the IC reactor cast wheat bran fiber into, the size of granular sludge is bigger, the sedimentation is better, and the biologic active is higher than the granular sludge of that not.
