| Polymer light emitting diodes have a good chance to become the main display system in the near future since diodes have many advantages concerning preparation and operation over other display systems. At present, some studies on the composition of light emitting polymer and inorganic nanoparticle have been carried out, leading to significant improvement in the characteristics of the photoluminescence and electroluminescence of these composites, although underlying mechanism is to be determined. This paper dealt with the preparation of SiO2 gels with spatial network structure prepared by sol-gel process, and then blended the resulting gels with light emitting polymer poly(9,9-dioctylfluorene) (PFO) to obtain PFO/SiO2 composite. Furthermore, preliminary studies on luminescent properties were also been performed. The base after acid catalysis method by which SiO2 gels with nanoporous structure was synthesized could dramatically shorten reaction time, while first hydrolyzed and then condensation method could prepare SiO2 gels with ideal network structure.PFO/SiO2 organ-inorganic composite film was obtained with PFO and gel powders in chloroform solution. Compared with bulk PFO thin film, a 23nm red-shift occurs in the photoluminescence (PL) spectrum of... |
