The preparation and properties of quasicrystals have been the subject of worldwide research. However, because of their brittleness and porosity, quasicrystals can't be applied directly as structural materials. Because of high hardness, heat-resistance, corrosion resistance and low surface energy properties, quasicrystals are good candidates for dispersed strengthening phases.In the recent work, we have designed and prepared quasicrystals master alloy using quasicrystal as the reinforcing particle by ex-situ mode.
