Laser cladding is used to form a kind of surface coating, by using a high energy laser beam to melt coating material and a thin layer base metal, which has a good metallurgical bonding with the substrate, without gas holes and crack. It has been becoming one of new techniques that have infinite development future.Laser cladding is a complicated process accompanied with physical and chemical reaction, so parameters are important to the quality. The main parameters include laser power, spot diameter, rate of feeding powder and scanning speed, which have much effect on dilution rate, crack, surface roughness, compactness of the workpiece. And all the effect can be showed through the change of molten pool temperature.In this paper, molten pool temperature in laser cladding process was measured by temperature measurement with different parameters, and the influence of processing condition on the temperature was investigated systematically. We researched single-pass and multi-layer cladding and got some results as below:1. The temperature measurement system was built up by using a two-color infrared thermometer, and fixed-point measurement and real-time tracking measurement were achieved.2. The influence of laser power, scanning speed, powder feed rate, spot diameter and preheating on the temperature of molten pool were revealed in the process of single-pass cladding.3. The change of molten pool temperature of different layers was measured, and the Metallographic and Microstructures in combined interface were analyzed.4.
