2,5-diaryl-l,3,4-oxadiazole(OXD) derivatives are the most widely studied electron transport materials because of their electron deficiency, high photoluminescence quantum yield, and good thermal and chemical stabilities. Five new OXD compounds were synthesized, and their thermal properties, optical properties and electrochemical behaviors were investigated. Simultaneously, we synthesized the novel hybrid molecules containing OXD by hydrosilylation reaction of T8H8, and their structures were characterized by FT-IR and ~1H-NMR. The main contents of this thesis include the following points:1. The development and synthesis methods of the OXD electron transport materials were reviewed in detail.2. Five OXD objective compounds were synthesized, and their structures were characterized by FT-IR ,~1H-NMR and EA(elemental analysis).3. The thermal properties of the five objective compounds were studied with DSC (Differential scanning calorimetry) and TGA( thermogravimetric analysis) techniques, and the effects of the molecular structure on the thermal properties were discussed.4. The UV-vis absorption and PL(photoluminescence) spectra of the five objectivecompounds in THF were investigated. The experimental results show that all the compounds possess high excitation levels and are suitable for electron transport materials. Simultaneously, it is found that solution concentration and molecular structure have large effect on the formation of excimers.5. The electrochemical properties were studied with CV(Cyclic Voltammograms), and the experimental results reveal that all the compounds have high EA(electron affinity) and Ip(ionization potential).6. Three other OXD derivatives with a terminal allyloxy functional group and a kind of novel POSS based hybrid macromolecules containing OXD were also synthesized, and their structures were characterized by FT-IR and ~1H-NMR.
