The subject of"The complicated fault block fine reservoir description in Hongxing area"is based on the old zone potential increase in 2002 to 2003 and the reservoir description for this area was developed for the purpose of increasing the old zone potential and effectively developing the underground oil and gas resource. For the tectonic complicatedity and low tectonic confirming, the study was developed according to both formation comparison and three dimensional seismic interpreting. The structural model was established by means of Petrel geological model construction program. The purpose area was concerned with the Dongying group and Sand-1 section. The shallow Dongying group secondary gas reservoir has been studied systematically according to genesis, controlling factors, recognition method, distribution characteristics and inner potential as well as a lot of problems encountered in the development process in the Dongying group. At the same time, analyze the sedimentary condition, rock phase type, sedimentary structure, granulometric characteristics and sedimentary phase electrical phenomena. The sedimentary phase can be classified in the Sand-1 section in term of the sandstone group. the sedimentary revolutionary laws can be analyzed according to the regional geological phenomena and sedimentary condition of Sand-1 section. The lithological characteristics of reservoir, distribution characteristics, physical characteristics and non-uniform property were studied. The reservoir of three purpose formation such as Es1 low group, Es1 middle group and Dongying group(Ed) were inversed with Jason program, so that the lateral and vertical distribution have been cleared. The effectiveness evaluation of reservoir developing potential, the adjustment of old wells and location determination of new wells in this area were completed based on the oil and gas distribution, oil and gas reservoir type, fluid characteristics, the reservoir development characteristics analysis and study.The study of shallow formation gas in Hongxing area is the first case in Liaohe oil field and provides good experiences for the study of similar oil and gas reservoir. There is some kind of innovation with the study.According to the study of this project, the recognition of the shallow formation was promoted to a new level and the block productivity was increased rapidly. the oil production rate per year had been increased from 1035t in 2003 to 11667t in 2004 and the gas production rate per year had been increased from 409×104m3 before description to 4417×104m3 in 2004 respectively. It is forecasted that the proved natural gas geological reserves will be enhanced by 1×108m3.
