Study On The Marine Environmental Impact Of Dredged Material Disposal In The Area Of The Yangxi Sea Area

The goal of this study was to determine the marine environmental impact of dredged material disposal in the area of the Yangxi sea area. The two preelection dredged-material Dump Sites (Mud Dump Site, area I and area II) is located in the area of the Yangxi sea area, about 7 and 9 km off the coast.The main conclusion as follow:1. The depth of two preelection dredged-material Dump Sites is about 21 meters, Two preelections is good to be set for dredged-material.The main impact of dredged-material for the marine environment is suspended material.2. The dredged-material in the preelection would make the suspended material concentration in the disposal area over 10mg/L, the concentration of suspeded material have different value in different times and in different Dump Sites. In this area, the current is much more strong and the sea water exchange itself very quickly, the main point of disposal would get high concentration after disposaling, but after one or two hours the concentration would go down to the native situation. The average increase value of concentration in 15 days would get less than lOmg/L in each surface and each position, it displays that the period of over limit of suspended material concentration in each point is not so long.3.
