Leather products can always attract people's attention for their unsurpassed healthful properties, comfortable hand feeling, natural appearance and exquisite taste. But leather and its products are susceptible to fungicide and bacterial because they are abundant in nitrogen, carbon, oxygen, hydrogen and minerals which are necessary for the propagation of microbe. When temperature, humidity and pH all in order, leather and its products would go moldy in case spore of fungus fall on leather. In addition, the fatliquors, finishing agents and remained enzymes used during leather processing are also propitious to the parasitization of fungicides. Moldy skin or leather would affect the appearance, debase the physical-mechanical properties of leather and impact the sale and utilization of leather products seriously. The paper synthesized dibenzo-18-crown-6 bound chitosan (CTSG) with resourceful chitosan and crown ether which exhibits excellent complex properties to metal ions and zero value metal. Then CTSG was used as absorbent and protecting agent in the preparation of nano-silver. The antifungal activities of the complexes (ACTSG) of nanometer silver and CTSG, which took nano-silver as antimicrobial part, were also investigated. The aim of this paper is to explore a novel mildew preventive applied in leather manufacture. The paper involved three parts. Firstly, novel absorbent and preservative CTSG were synthesized. The C2 amino groups in chitosan were protected by the reaction between phenyl aldehyde and chitosan, obtaining Schiff-chitosan. Then...
