Numerical Simulation Of Thermal Plasma Technology On Tannery Sludge Treatment

Tannery sludge treatment is a crucial and emergent problem for sustainable development of leather industry. At present in China the main processing methods to dispose the tannery sludge involve landfill, cineration and compost. However, there are lots of problems in existence for these traditional methods. To find a new way to reutilize the tannery sludge is particularly urgent now. Thermal plasma technology is a new manner to deal this problem and can prevent the second pollution effectively. As a promising technology, thermal plasma technology is very important in the sludge treatment field and worthy to be developed.In the process of the treatment of tannery sludge using thermal plasma technology, so many complex physical and chemical processes happen. Many parameters including concentration distribution, flow velocity, residence time, gas velocity, pressure and temperature distribution etc., will impact the pyrolysis process of tannery sludge in plasma reactor directly. In this project the characteristics of plasma-particle two-phase flow and the relationship between the fluid parameters and pyrolysis of tannery sludge will be studied and the results will be used as the fundamental for the design, optimization and operation of the reactorIn this article a basic equation system depicting the flow law inside the plasma reactor is established.
