With the continuously development of Iodine-Oxygen Chemical Laser(COIL) technology, it has reached the phase to improve reliability and applicability of the system and reduce its complexity. Improving the way of O2(1Δg)production is one of the most important contents in this phase. It is well known the traditional way passing chlorine gas through aqueous basic hydrogen peroxide to produce O(21Δg)has many shortages. It is easy for O(21Δg)to collide with water, hydrogen peroxide, and 3Σg -O2 to loss its energy in its producing process ,so as to emit large quantity of heat. At the same time, the equipment for O(21Δg)producing is complex, and it is hard for COIL to work in reduced gravity environment.Recently, the news that O2(1Δg)was produced with gas-solid reaction in American Air Force Research Laboratory is an unexpected information. A solid alkali metal peroxide or a solid alkaline earth peroxide reaction with a gas halogen hydride was adopted to produce O2(1Δg). Usually, this way was not applied widely, because of its small contact area, lower productivity and surface limitation. But with the rapid development of surface chemistry technology, it became possible with gas-solid reaction to produce O2(1Δg). If this way could be applied in COIL, many shortages would be overcame. In order to affirm the possibility of this gas-solid reaction system, and provide some theoretical and experimental references, we have done the...
