With the development of urbanization, population growth, industrialization, and traffic growth, the environmental pollution has been more serious in the cities. Due to particular poison of heavy metals, it is significant to research its migration and mechanism. Between air and soil, dust goes through the long-term circulation to suspend and fall, which is studied in this paper to research heavy metals pollution.Based on the study of students, we collected the dust and surface soil samples the Forth Circle Road in Beijing in 2005. Contrasting the quantity characteristics of As, Cu, Cd, Pb, Hg, we find out distribution in space and the resource of pollution.Through our research we get: in dust, the order of elements content is Hg>Pb> As, Cu>Cd in 2002, while Hg>Pb>Cu>As>Cd in 2005. And in surface soil, Hg >As>Pb>Cu>Cd in 2002.Background value, standard deviation, abnormality minimum of As element are lower in dust in 2005 than that of both in dust and in surface soil in 2002. We can conclude its content in dust is independent of the soil component and it is negligible. As for Cu and Cd, the indexes mentioned above are similar between 2002 and 2005. We can find the Cu and Cd content in dust is direct relation to the soil. To Pb, the maximum in 2005 is strikingly lower than that of in 2002, but the averages are uniform. In 2005, the abnormity sections are correspondingly smaller. Maybe the high Pb element content comes from exhaust of vehicles .As to Hg, in 2005 its content bound and high points are much lower. Meanwhile, its average point is also lower. The abnormity sections splicing in Second Circle Road are descending. The conclusion we get is the Hg element pollution roots in short range and is commutative with the surface soil.
