Equilibrium data is the data-base in the chemical engineerin design and industrial computing for the separating process of distillation, absorption, extraction and crystallization. Vapor-liquid equilibrium data is one of the most important data based in the development of new industrial chemical products, new technology, reducing energy consumption and wastewater treatment.Isobaric vapor-liquid equilibrium (VLE) data for water-acetic acid, acetic acid- propyl acetate, acetec acid-isopropyl acetate, water-acetic acid-propyl acetate and water-acetic acid-isopropyl acetate systems were measured at 101.33 kPa by using an improved Rose equilibria cell. Liquid-liquid equilibrium (LLE) data for water-acetic acid-propyl acetate and water-acetic acid-isopropyl acetate systems were measured at 298.15 K,101.33 kPa.Considering acetic acid's association effect, the fugacity coefficients of components in the vapor phase were calculated by virial equation and Hayden-O'connell method. Three activity coefficient equations, such as Wilson, NRTL and UNIQUAC, were used to show the deviation from ideal behavior in liquid phase. The corresponding interaction parameters were calculated through the nonlinear least square method.VLE data of two ternary systems, water - acetic acid - propyl and water - acetic acid - isopropyl acetate systems, were also predicted using the interaction parameters obtained by experimental VLE data of binary systems. The maximum temperature absolute deviation are respective 1.99 K, 1.47 K, average absolute deviations are less than 1.27 K. Acetic acid's vapor compostion got 0.0227 for average absolute deviation, and propyl acetate 0.0196 in water-acetic acid-propyl acetate system. In water-acetic acid-isopropyl acetate system, acetic acid's ave abs. deviation is 0.0255; isopropyl acetate's is 0.0265. All above mentioned showed a good result of prediction.
