Biological treatment is a useful and efficient method for sewage treatment. It has been shown that the development and distribution of microbe biofacies dominate the process and effect of biological treatment for Wastewater. In order to find a new and low cost biological technology for sewage treatment, porous concrete eco-films were created in this study with cement, crushed stones, coal ash and the activated material CRLT-1 as medium for biofilm development. In this experiment, the method of biofilm colonization on eco-concrete sewage treatment was studied. The regular change of biofilm development under different conditions, the increment of bacteria number and the success of micro-animal kinds and population etc in the process are showed. The majority of microorganisms were found to be threadlike bacteria such as nitrobacteria and protozoan and metazoans. After the biofilm is mature, the removal ratio of CODcr,NH3-N,biomass and biofilm activity in the concrete eco-film were measured. The level of CODcr ,BOD5, NH3-N,TP in that treated water decreased ≥70%, ≥70%, ≥ 30% and ≥17% respectively. Biofilm activity and Sludge by Oxygen Uptake Rate (SOUR) is 3.16~10.72mg/cm2 and 3.23~6.25 mgO2/g·h respectively. The water discharged meets the standard of GB18918-2002. The temperature, pH and dissolved oxygen affect microbe biofacies and biofilm activity. At last, the purification mechanisms of the porous concrete eco-film Wastewater treatment were discussed.
