One of the methods, which disperse the nano-SiC powder among nickel watt composite plating, is to choose the suitable surfactant by experiments. The aim is to make nano-SiC disperse uniformly and stably. By using the mixture of anionic surfactant and cationic surfactant, we can define the stability of SiC suspension with sediment experiment, the limited separation diameter and TEM.The Ni/nano-SiC composite coating with smooth surface was obtained by the fast pulse plating on the stainless steel board. And the Ni/nano-SiC composite coating was produced by varying the following electroplating parameters: cathode current density, impulse frequency and the rate of vacancy of fast pulse powder and the content of SiC in the electrolyte, and measured the property of the composite coatings. The results indicated that the electroplating parameters influenced the deposition rate and the micro-hardness of the composite coating. The results of the experiments show that the Ni/nano-SiC composite coating has a flat morphology and compact microstructure.
