Zinc-coated steels are more and more widely used in the body manufacturing in automobile industry, because it can effectively protect from corrosion. Resistance spot welding (RSW) is the main joining technique. However, as the presence of zinc layer, it is harder to weld zinc-coated steels than normal low carbon steels. Under such circumstance, the electrode is also rapidly consumed. So, it is urgent to research the electrode life and improve the welding process. Numerical simulation is the main research technique in RSW since the process is hard to observe. The recent development of the research on the electrode life and the application of numerical simulation on welding are introduced in this paper, as well as diffusion. Based on these introductions, this paper also briefly goes...
