Inverse suspension polymerization was performed to prepare acrylic based polymer microspher when cyclohaxane was used as organic phase. Suspension stabilizer was an amphiphilic copolymer of tripolyglycerol monostearates.N,N'-methylenebisacrylamide was used as crosslinker. Ethylene glycol diacrylate also was used for subsequently surface-crosslinker to produce gradient crosslink network. Effects of polymerization conditions on the properties of the polymer were studied, including the amount of crosslinker and stabilizer, neutralization degree and stirring speed. It turned out that the water-absorbency of the polymer was mostly affected by the crosslinker concentration, but the speed of absorbency was greatly influenced by the size of the particles. The micro-spheres prepared by this method have good performance. The absorbent capacity in water was 1500g/g water in 5 minutes. At last, acrylamide was added to the polymerization system to prepare the copolymer in effort to increase the saline water absorbency. Research was made on the improvement of absorbency under 650r/min stirring condition. Measure to reduce the adherement was also studied. The surface structure and morphology of micro-sphere and heat property were analyzed by IR, SEM, DSC etc.
