With the industrial development of galvanization, tanbark, antisepsis and dye etc, the environment, as well as human health, has been suffering damage by metal bearing wastewater. This situation makes it urgent to find effective ways to wipe off heavy metal ions from wastewater before it is drained. In this paper a novel technology is put forth, discussed and probed, which involves removing heavy metal ions in liquid-solid fluid bed with KDF filtration, studying removed effect of KDF medium and ascertaining optimal operating flux in fluid bed. Flow field of liquid and solid in fluid bed is studied which involves measuring solid velocity and solid volume fraction with PV4A velocity-meter. In addition, flow field in fluid bed is modeled with FLUENT software to research solid velocity and solid volume fraction in fluid bed and contrast with experiments. In this experiment heavy metal ions are treated in liquid-solid fluid bed with KDF filtration to study its removed effect under the conditions of different KDF weigh, different flux, and different original wastewater concentration. The results show that the removal rate has a tendency of going up with KDF medium weigh increasing, original wastewater concentration decreasing and the removed rate of KDF medium is satisfied. Otherwise, optimal flux is ascertained. The axial distributing and radial distributing rule of solid velocity and solid volume fraction are researched in fluid bed through measuring solid velocity and solid volume fraction with PV4A velocity-meter. The optimal flux is confirmed with experiment. The standard k -εmodel and double Eulerian multiphase flow model are built to stimulate three dimensional flow of liquid-solid two phase in fluid beds as well as stand-wall function method further deals with near-wall flow. Simulation results show that time of reaching steady state shortens with inlet flux increasing. Furthermore, distribute of solid velocity and solid volume fraction in fluid bed is analyzed according to simulating computing value. With contrast to experiment results, the axial and radial distributing tendency of solid velocity and solid volume fraction in modeling process is consistent with those of experiment results.
