A New Design Exploratory Of Semantics Research Based On Chinese Ancient Lamps

This article aims at knowing of the history of ancient lamps' developing on form, material and function by using design procedure and method of semantics, classifying and studying ancient lamps in China. With the help of foregoing conclusion, the author extracts an ancient lamp as innovation source to design a modern lamp dissolving in technology and aesthetics of modern design.As a kind of product design method, the semantics takes symbol as a cognition method to expend products' expression: The whole process attempts to find a key to recreation of traditional culture heritage, meanwhile, the study will give a hand to designer to improve their creation ability on form design.Redesign of the ancient lamps makes a pushing effect on Chinese culture. The modern design method of semantics makes traditional culture send out new sparkle. All this contributes to enrich form of expression, provide modern design with deep culture foundation and wide developing space.
