Study On Measuring Instrument Of Chaser For Cutting Steel Pipe Based On ARM & Linux

It is necessary to develop an automated cutting tools measurement system, so that it can improve the efficiency of measuring cutting tool. With the high speed development of numerical information technology, embedded technology has widely penetrated into all kinds of domains. ARM and Linux has obtained widespread application, because they cost little and the performance is superior. They have satisfied the requirement of high end embedded product about high processing speed and friendly graphical interface, In this paper all kinds of measuring technology for cutting tool are compared and analyzed before the project of a measuring instrument of the thread chaser in petroleum steel pipe based on ARM & Linux is presented.The measuring instrument of the thread chaser in petroleum steel pipe is made of movement platform, linear CCD data acquisition module, data processing and display platform. The working principle of this system is that the linear CCD and the movement platform mutually coordinate to measure data, and data is transported into the data processing and display platform through UART interface, then the software of data processing can measure it precisely, finally the data processing result and the outline curve of cutting tool is displayed on graphical interface.The realization of system software and hardware are discussed. All types of possible error sources are analyzed and the actual results of measurement are presented. The data processing principle of cutting tool, method, MATLAB simulation, the composition of software and hardware are mainly discussed. Then we analyze the principles and the composition of software and hardware about the CCD data acquisition system. I have achieved to do the following research.①Blue print for the measuring instrument of the thread chaser in petroleum steel pipe is studied, including the working principle of the whole system, the designing proposal of hardware and software.②Curve equation of cutting tool outline is computed and the data processing method of cutting tool is proposedThe basic 37 curves equation of whole theoretical outline is solved. And the algorithm of the least square fitting is used to fit cutting tool outline.③Whole software for the simulated data processing of the outline about cutting tool in MATLAB is programmed. And the algorithm of data processing is confirmed to be correct.④Application software for the platform of data processing and display is programmed. Communication between the Linux operating system on ARM and the data acquisition system based on linear CCD is realized.⑤Computer vision system used for data acquisition is designed.
