Vehicle emission------especially the diesel vehicle ,as the PM pollution madeup for the most component in the air. This proportion becomes bigger and bigger. At present, the diesel engine emission test can only but use the chassis dynamometer and engine test dais, so we don't know the vehicle actually emission in the real road, and how to test the actual emission is the technology puzzle all the same. The USA plans to use "on-board test method" on the heavy diesel vehicle in 2007, measure and evaluate the HDV PM emission in the real world, carry out more effective control of the emission. This method has maturated in the gaseous test, but it has some difficultness in the PM test. There are some differences technologies need to be evaluated. This paper will give a deep study on this point.This study base on the on-board particle matter test system which made up offPM collect analyzer------ELPI, and study on the vehicles that in the real worldemissions,also test in the laboratory and chassis dynamometer. Have studied the PM number consistence and mass consistence distribution in the diameters of different vehicles on different test method, also contain the vehicles that have aftertreatment. At the same time, this paper has given some gasoline engine vehicles PM emission study, analyse the emission that the different places on the catalyst.This study has obtained some conclusions in the following:(1) The PM number consistence which diameter smaller than 0.3μm that account for 99% of the all, but the PM mass consistence which diameter bigger than 0.3μm accunt for 80% of the all;(2) In the city cycle, the mass emission from the stage III vehicle' 38.4% lower than that from stage II, but increased 16.5% in the number consistence;(3) The same type engine,in the different test way has different result: when in the cicty cycle test, the extral-PM consistence that diameter smaller than 0.05μm is twice bigger than the test on the dais;(4) The vehicles which have aftertreatment that the emission is much lower that when that isn't have: when be installed the aftertreatment,the number consisitence reduced by 99.6%, and the mass consistence reduced by 98%; at the same time, when without aftertreatment, the PM emission varied follow the...
