Since the discovery of the so-called M41S family of mesoporous molecular sieves, the research about mesoporous materials has attracted worldwide interest as well as the synthesis, modification and application. As a outstanding membership among all of the other known periodic mesophase M41S family, MCM-41 has relatively uniform hexagonal structure, one dimension pore channels and narrow distribution, tunable pore size by the selection of model substrata, which can be changed between 1.5 nm and 10 nm, what's more, it has a large mount of very high surface area (700~1500m~2/g). However, because the pure silica mesoporous molecular sieve has a simple property and a low acidity, its industrial application is still limited to lab research. Here we studied the modification of MCM-41. First of all we immobilized trimethylchlorosilane onto the surface of MCM-41 mesoporous molecular sieve by post-synthesis. Then in the same way, we prepared the sulfonic mesoporous molecular sieve in two steps. In the end of the paper, we tried to synthesis silyation of sulfonic mesoporous molecular sieve and applied to the preparation of monoglyceride as catalyst. The silylation of mesoporous molecular sieve is an efficient way to anchor nonpolar organic group in the structure. In this paper, we modified the inter surface of the MCM-41 mesoporous molecurlar sieve with trimethylchlorosilane through post-synthesis procedure. The product is characterized through XRD and FT-IR. The result display that the trimethylchlorosilane has grafted onto the inter surface of MCM-41. The modified mesoporous materials are expected to use in the synthesis of chiral preparation and the other fields concerned.Compared to the approach of sulphonic mesoporous molecular sieve synthesized by oxidition of mercapto group. Sulphonic mesoporous MCM-41 was prepared through sol-gel method and functionalized with benzyl alcohol and subsequent chlorosulphonic acid by post synthesis. The material was characterized by XRD, nitrogen adsorption-desorption, TG-DTA, FT-IR. In those cases, the product still kept...
