The 2×130T/h circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler of Chongqing Longqiao power plant were put into operation in 2002. And the two suits of YSC88-3 type electrostatic precipitators (EP) were designed, manufactured and installed by Zhejiang Tianjie Environment Protection Limited Company. During the three years, the dust removing efficiency of the EP is not higher enough for the request of the environment protection.This article analyses the mail problems of the electrostatic precipitators in domestic coal-burning power plant based on reviewing the progress of EP in the world. And the problems mainly includes operation problems (such as lower operational current, lower operational voltage, discharge electrode break off, un-electrical-dizzy, and the ash blocking up of ash transporting equipments), striking problems, gag flow distribution problems, etc. In addition, some feasible methods are put forward for solving above problems.What's more, considering with the case of the Chongqing Longqiao power plant, we gain the settling scheme on solving the ash removing problem of the electrostatic precipitators after our study and test. And we carried out the technical modification on the electrostatic precipitators in 2006. After the performance examination, the modified electrostatic precipitators were accepted. The ash removing efficiency increases from 98.84% to 99.55%, and the dust emission meets the limit of the environment protection.This study is a successful example for the modificatiion of the other old electrostatic precipitators in coal-burning power plant, and the experience may provide a reference for the operation, modificatiion and furthermore study of the electrostatic precipitators.
